American Hungarian Chamber of Commerce supports Women’s Economic Empowerment

0

March 8th is International Women’s Day, which was established to fight for women’s rights worldwide.

Today, only 6.6% of Fortune 500 companies have women as their CEOs. 40% of people believe there is a double standard against women, and only 23% of C-suites are made up of women. Women’s empowerment and advancement matter to corporate success: Companies with diverse leadership are 35% more likely to outperform their competitors.

They are 70% more likely to capture new markets. Leadership teams are 87% better at making decisions, and companies with diverse leadership enjoy 19% higher revenue. Building on the Biden-Harris Administration’s National Strategy on Gender Equity and Equality to advance the full participation of all people – including women and girls – in the United States and around the world, Secretary of Commerce Gina M. Raimondo announced an initiative promoting the role of women in international business and trade called EMPOWER HER. On behalf of the American Hungarian Chamber of Commerce Prof Dr Martin Zsarnoczky PhD President was signing a DECLARATION and recognize EMPOWER HER as a first step for a better future in the following areas: #COMMITTING #INVESTING #PROMOTING #IDENTIFYING #ADVOCATING #SHARING #SUPPORTING The American Hungarian Chamber of Commerce is proud to take a huge effort for gender equality and diversity all around the world.

All our colleagues at AmHunCham, including all our members, are recognizing the contribution of women around the world and the importance of an equal and equitable environment for women to thrive as leaders, entrepreneurs, and innovators.

AmHunCham’s membership fee payment system has been changed and renewed

0

We are introducing a number of new features on the redesigned American Hungarian Chamber of Commerce website.

One of the most important improvements and innovations we have made is the change to the dues payment process. A much simpler, more complex process now allows our members to settle their annual membership dues.

Now, bercode.com will continue to provide great help and support for this. Via the link https://www.bercode.com/amhuncham – which can be accessed directly from the English and Hungarian menus on our website – you can access the AmHunCham Member’s Page, where you can select the membership card you want to apply for, the type of membership and the payment method.

Anyone can view the complete AmHunCham webshop and start the desired purchase process there.

If you have previously registered on the buyer platform, even if you are a member of another community, the system will recognise this when you enter the corresponding e-mail address. If not, your registration will be automatically completed by entering a few extra details (date of birth, gender, etc.).

Diaspora Higher Education Scholarship Programme: deadline for applications coming up soon

The Consulate General of Hungary in New York has sent a communication to the American Hungarian Chamber of Commerce, calling attention to an important deadline.

The deadline for applications for the Diaspora Higher Education Scholarship Program (DFP), announced by the Tempus Public Foundation, is January 31, 2023.

The Diaspora Higher Education Scholarship Programme was established by the Government of Hungary for those who live in the Hungarian diaspora outside Europe and wish to study at a Hungarian higher education institution in order to strengthen their personal, professional and cultural ties with Hungary.

The aim of the scholarship programme is to support the professional development of the scholarship holders and to deepen their Hungarian language skills and identity by providing high quality Hungarian higher education. Upon graduation, scholars return home with competitive knowledge and skills that will enable them to effectively support their communities, preserve Hungarian values and strengthen ties between Hungary and the diaspora.

Detailed information about the scholarship programme is available at www.diasporascholarship.hu in Hungarian and https://diasporascholarship.hu/en/ in English.

Sincerely,

Consulate General of Hungary in New York
