Finalised programme of the Guidance on U.S. Market Entry, February 7, 2023

We previously announced that the American Chamber of Commerce New York will host another major seminar, Guidance on U.S. Market Entry, on February 7, 2023 at the BKIK.

Although we previously published the draft program – as it was then – we are doing so again now that the finalized schedule has arrived.

The detailed and final programme of the Guidance on U.S. Market Entry can be downloaded HERE.

We asked Neil Pickett about US-Hungarian business opportunities

Last year, the first Hungarian American Business Forum was held on October 13, 2022, organized by AmHunCham and BKIK.

After the seminar, Thomas Barat, Founder and President Emeritus of AmHunCham, and Dr. Martin Zsarnóczky, President of AmHunCham, interviewed Neil Pickett, Senior Commercial Officer at the U.S. Embassy in Hungary, about Hungarian-American business opportunities and more.

AmHunCham’s upcoming event, Guidance to U.S. Market Entry, will provide answers to these and similar questions.

How to enter the U.S. market? On 7th February we’ll find out!

On February 7th, 2023, the Hungarian American Chamber of Commerce in New York (AmHunCham), the International Relations Office of the Budapest Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the American Trade Office in Budapest/U.S. Embassy in Budapest will host a joint event entitled “Guidance to U.S. Market Entry”. AmHunCham’s membership fee payment system has been changed and renewed

We are introducing a number of new features on the redesigned American Hungarian Chamber of Commerce website.

One of the most important improvements and innovations we have made is the change to the dues payment process. A much simpler, more complex process now allows our members to settle their annual membership dues.

Now, bercode.com will continue to provide great help and support for this. Via the link https://www.bercode.com/amhuncham – which can be accessed directly from the English and Hungarian menus on our website – you can access the AmHunCham Member’s Page, where you can select the membership card you want to apply for, the type of membership and the payment method.

Anyone can view the complete AmHunCham webshop and start the desired purchase process there.

If you have previously registered on the buyer platform, even if you are a member of another community, the system will recognise this when you enter the corresponding e-mail address. If not, your registration will be automatically completed by entering a few extra details (date of birth, gender, etc.).

Diaspora Higher Education Scholarship Programme: deadline for applications coming up soon

The Consulate General of Hungary in New York has sent a communication to the American Hungarian Chamber of Commerce, calling attention to an important deadline.

The deadline for applications for the Diaspora Higher Education Scholarship Program (DFP), announced by the Tempus Public Foundation, is January 31, 2023.

The Diaspora Higher Education Scholarship Programme was established by the Government of Hungary for those who live in the Hungarian diaspora outside Europe and wish to study at a Hungarian higher education institution in order to strengthen their personal, professional and cultural ties with Hungary.

The aim of the scholarship programme is to support the professional development of the scholarship holders and to deepen their Hungarian language skills and identity by providing high quality Hungarian higher education. Upon graduation, scholars return home with competitive knowledge and skills that will enable them to effectively support their communities, preserve Hungarian values and strengthen ties between Hungary and the diaspora.

Detailed information about the scholarship programme is available at www.diasporascholarship.hu in Hungarian and https://diasporascholarship.hu/en/ in English.

Dr. Martin Zsarnóczky, President of AmHunCham on HETI TV’s Pirkadat

The signing of the AmHunCham-BKIK cooperation was the main reason for the discussion with the President of the Chamber, Dr. Martin Zsarnóczky, on HETI TV’s Pirkadat programme.

A short film documenting the signing of the AmHunCham-BKIK cooperation can be seen below.

And for the related HETI TV Pirkadat programme, watch below.

AmHunCham and BKIK signed a cooperation agreement

In the year 2022, the bilateral international cooperation partnership of the Hungarian American Chamber of Commerce has been further expanded. Through the international agreement, members of both chambers will benefit from mutual business, partnership and personal long-term relationships.

The Hungarian American Chamber of Commerce and the Budapest Chamber of Commerce and Industry have signed a strategic cooperation agreement.

The signing ceremony in Budapest was personally attended by Elek Nagy, President of the BKIK, and Dr. Martin Zsarnóczky, President of AmHunCham. Both experts unanimously stressed the need for and importance of a reliable partnership and a US-Hungarian relationship based on bilateral relations.

In addition to mutual economic interests, the meeting also touched on historical parallels, referring to the more than one and a half century of BKIK’s history and the founding of the first Hungarian American Chamber in New York in 1909.

Cooperation has already begun in principle through the jointly hosted Hungarian American Business Forum in October, and the first semi-annual work plan for 2023 was announced at the event.

In line with the intensive programme schedule, several high-level events will be held in February, April, May and June in cooperation with BKIK. These events will remain free of charge.
